The mountain village of Donovaly is located in the western part of the Low Tatras, about 25 km north of Banska Bystrica. It lies in the TANAP protected area, near the Velká Fatra National Park and is an important centre for summer as well as winter recreational activities. Donovaly village is steadily being transformed into a tourist centre for both summer and winter sports.
